Today, we are going to cook a classic, pizza! I have to say that I am particularly attracted to Italian food, as you may have noticed. This recipe comes from Naples. The first pizzas had little to do with what we can find today. And its exact origin is still a little unclear, as it is so old. It was in 1780 that the first pizza as we know it was created, the Margherita pizza (bread, tomatoes, cheese), made by Raffaele Esposito in honour of Queen Margherite who was very fond of his pizzas. This dish, which until then had been eaten in the street, acquired its letters of nobility and has continued to diversify ever since.
By the way, if, like me, you are a big fan of Italian food, and you dream of living the dolce vita, I advise you to visit Leslie's blog! This travel enthusiast invites you to discover the beautiful city of Milan on her website. If you want to dream a little, go and have a look: Leslie's blog
Back to cooking! In this article, I present to you my version of vegan pizza. Of course, this is only an example. The good thing about this recipe is that anyone can adapt it by putting just about anything they want on it. I'm particularly fond of the green pesto and basil. The recipe is suitable for two large pizzas. Bon appƩtit!
PIZZA DOUGH
330 g flour
200 g water
1 sachet of baker's yeast
30g olive oil
1 level teaspoon of salt
GARNISH
Tomato sauce
Vegan grated mozzarella
Green pesto
onions or garlic
basil leaves
INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare the pizza dough. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and knead until you get a nice ball. Leave to rise for at least an hour. Cut the ball in half and roll out the dough on a floured work surface. Line the baking tray with baking paper and place the dough on it. Optional, but a thousand times better: cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes to an hour. The dough is ready to be filled.
Spread the tomato sauce over the entire pastry. Then add the other ingredients on top in the quantities you like. The basil can be chopped and added after cooking to keep it fresh.
Bake at 200 degrees for about 10 minutes. This depends on the power of your oven and whether you want your pizza to be softer or crispier. Keep an eye on it regularly.
